Clementine’s Orange-y Day
In a sunny grove near a sparkling river, a baby capybara named Clementine woke up with an orange resting on her head. It wasn’t unusual for Clementine—she loved carrying the little fruit wherever she went. Her mama always said it made her look extra charming, and Clementine quite agreed.
One breezy morning, Clementine decided to visit her friends and share her favorite treat. As she waddled down to the riverbank, she saw Wren the bird perched on a branch.
“Good morning, Clementine! What’s that on your head?” Wren chirped.
“It’s my orange! Isn’t it lovely?” Clementine said proudly. “I’m sharing it with my friends today!”
Wren flapped her wings. “An orange picnic? Count me in!”
As Clementine continued along, she met Ollie the otter, who was sliding down the riverbank. “Is that an orange?” Ollie asked, his nose twitching.
“It sure is!” Clementine replied. “Join us for a snack!”
Before long, a merry group of friends was gathered by the river: Wren, Ollie, and even Daisy the turtle, who slowly made her way to the gathering. Clementine placed her orange in the middle of the group and smiled.
“I carried this orange all day so we could share it together!” she announced.
Wren pecked at the orange, Ollie nibbled a piece, and Daisy slowly enjoyed a juicy slice. As they ate, Clementine told silly stories about how she’d once balanced two oranges on her head and ended up toppling into the river. The friends laughed so hard their sides ached.
When the orange was gone, the group lay on the grass, full and happy. “Clementine, you always make our days brighter,” Daisy said with a warm smile.
Clementine blushed. “It’s not just the orange—it’s you, my friends, who make everything special.”
From that day on, Clementine’s orange became a symbol of friendship and fun, and she was known as the little capybara who brought everyone together with a smile and a sweet treat.
